We embrace each faculty member’s individuality in growing their own critical information literacy assignments for their courses. That’s why in 2016, we began to offer our Critical Information Literacy Faculty Awards. Faculty who participate in these award activities attend two workshops with librarians to discuss and clarify their understanding about CIL, and they have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a librarian to plan a CIL assignment for their course(s). After the award activity, faculty submit a culminating report about their teaching/learning experience. We are happy to share some of these faculty reports with you here.
