Description: Are you a graduate student starting your thesis? Learn how to use the library’s resources to review the existing literature on your topic.

Tuesday, October 23

Evaluating Scholarly Resources, 12:00 – 12:45 pm

Description: Did you know that there are different types of scholarly articles? In this workshop, we’ll focus on how to identify the main types—the empirical study, the literature review, and the scholarly research article common in the Humanities. You’ll also learn the types of articles that appear in scholarly journals but that aren’t considered scholarly and should not be used in your papers. Confused? You need to attend this workshop! BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).

Advanced Database Search, 5:00 – 5:50 pm

Description: Learn how to search databases at a more advanced level and how to use limiting features to focus the results of your search. Hands-on time is included.

APA Style Basics in Chinese (Mandarin), 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Description: This workshop provides information students need to cite different types of sources in APA style, including hands-on exercise of formatting references, both in text and in the reference list.
