Sept. 9, 1850: California became the 31st state.

Nov. 7, 1893: Women get the right to vote … in Colorado. In California, the state legislature passes a bill granting women the right to vote and Governor Henry Markham vetoes it.

Oct 10, 1911: The men of California vote to give the women of California the right to vote!

Oct. 10, 2011: Come learn about the history of women’s suffrage in California. The League of Women Voters of San Bernardino will present information on the battle for women’s suffrage in California and will present a gift to Pfau Library. Come and celebrate!
